Planning Aviatrix Secure Edge Deployment for On-Premise
The following are the prerequisites to deploy an Aviatrix Edge Gateway for on-premise on the Aviatrix Edge platform.
1. Procure the Edge Hardware
If you do not already have your edge hardware, you need to evaluate the hardware that you require for your edge computing and procure the hardware. Contact your Aviatrix account manager for the hardware you may require. For a list of Aviatrix supported hardware appliances, see Aviatrix Secure Edge - Hardware Specifications.
2. Obtain the Hardware Serial Numbers
To register edge hardware with the Aviatrix Edge platform, you will be required to provide the hardware serial number. Obtain the serial numbers for your edge hardware.
3. Onboard the Aviatrix Secure Edge Platform Account
To onboard the edge hardware appliances and deploy the Edge Gateway on the Aviatrix Secure Edge Platform, you will need to set up a Platform account in CoPilot. To set up the account, see Setting up Accounts for Edge Platforms.
4. Onboard the Edge Hardware
After you onboard the Platform account, you can onboard and register the edge hardware appliances with the Aviatrix Controller. To onboard edge hardware, see Onboarding Edge Hardware.
5. Obtain Edge Gateway Interface Configurations
You will need to provide the following information during Edge Gateway creation to configure your Edge Gateway interfaces.

The Management Egress IP address to be allowed in the Controller Security Group. |
Primary DNS Server |
The Primary DNS server IP address. Not required for DHCP. |
Secondary DNS Server |
The Secondary DNS server IP address. Not required for DHCP. |
VRRP |
The VRRP IP address. Not required if not using VRRP. VRRP can be configured only if HA gateway is configured. |
VLAN ID |
The VLAN ID for each VLAN segment. |
VLAN IP |
The VLAN IP address for each VLAN segment. |
VLAN Default Gateway |
The Default Gateway IP address for each VLAN segment. |
6. Provide Network Access
Refer to Aviatrix Edge Gateway Ports and Protocols for the network access requirements for the Edge Gateway to communicate with the Aviatrix Controller, Aviatrix CoPilot, and the Aviatrix Transit Gateway.
