Creating a Highly Available Gateway Instance

You can create highly available Transit or Spoke Gateway instances either during the initial creation of a gateway or after the gateway is created.

To create highly available gateway instance after the gateway creation, follow these steps.

  1. In Aviatrix CoPilot, go to Cloud Fabric > Gateways > and select the appropriate tab (Transit Gateways or Spoke Gateways).

  2. Find the desired gateway in the table and click the Edit icon edit icon on the right side of its row.

  3. Scroll to Instances section, and click + Instance.

    A new row is added.

    1. From the Attach to Subnet dropdown menu, select the subnet where the gateway instance will be created.

    2. From the Public IP dropdown menu, select a Public IP to assign to the gateway instance or leave the default Allocate New Static Public IP.

  4. To create additional highly available gateway instances for this gateway, click + Instance and provide the subnet and Public IP information. Each gateway instance should be in a different public subnet and availability zone if possible.

    You can create up to 15 instances per gateway.

  5. Click Save to apply your changes.
