Setting up Accounts for Edge Platforms

You can deploy Aviatrix Secure Edge on these platforms:

Aviatrix CoPilot needs access to these platforms to be able to onboard the edge devices and deploy Aviatrix Edge Gateway. To enable Aviatrix CoPilot’s access to a platform, you must set up an account with the user credentials in CoPilot.

Aviatrix Edge Platform

You need to set up an account for the Aviatrix Edge platform when deploying Edge Gateways on edge devices in on-premises environments. Setting up an account for the Aviatrix Edge platform allows Aviatrix Controller to register with Aviatrix Edge infrastructure for managing and onboarding edge nodes and Edge Gateways.

To set up an account:

  1. In CoPilot, navigate to Cloud Fabric > Edge > Platforms tab.

  2. Click + Platform.

  3. Enter a name for the account. For example, OnPrem-Edge

  4. From the Type, select Aviatrix Edge. Leave the Developer Mode switch Off.

  5. Click Connect.

Equinix Platform

You need to set up an account for the Equinix platform when deploying Edge Gateways on Equinix Network Edge.

To set up an account:

  1. In CoPilot, navigate to Cloud Fabric > Edge > Platforms tab.

  2. Click + Platform.

  3. Enter a name for the account. For example, MyEquinix

  4. From the Type, select Equinix.

  5. Click Connect.

Self Managed Platform:

The account for Self Managed platform is automatically created in CoPilot for deployment of Edge Gateway in customer managed ESXi and KVM environments. See Aviatrix Edge deployment for ESXi/KVM for the deployment details.
